i can't find a .60/.63 ford turbo for the life of me, so my options are now limited.

i have a GN turbo, but that is too big and won't spool quickly enough (will try to get pic).

i have a factory ford .48 exhaust housing (in case i want to go to .63 later)

i have an 89 t2 turbo.

would clipping the stock t2 garrett even come close to the .63 s60 spec side or will the engine still choke on itself when i get over 20 psi? i am going to be putting the compressor side of the gn turbo on the turbo.

well if i were you and had the $...i'd have the gn compressor wheel put on the '89 t2 turbo you have and have it all rebalanced...that would be even a bit better than a super 60 and the lag wouldn't be that bad.

well, i think if i don't find a .63 housing i'm just going to clip the exhaust wheel and bolt the whole gn cold side onto the t2, maybe upgrade next year.

something tells me this turbo is going to spool REAL quickly

I wouldn't clip it. I think experience has shown that the exhaust housing itself is the restriction, and clipping the turbine on our stock turbo doesn't improve flow, it just makes it less efficient.

Hey what do you think about running a turbos oil system backwards. Feed into drainback, and Feed hole to pan...
(Id flip it around but those bolts with probably start twisting off GRRR)

Ahh dont worry about it. I took the head off with the intake and exhaust/turbo, had a fun time trying to loosen all the bolts on a 14 year old turbo without twisting them off. Pounded the exhaust side loose and everythings fine now!
