Ok I recently tried to remove my o2 housing on a T2 turbo. Long story short, a bolt sheared, and easy out broke off inside, and I had to get it professionally removed. My machinist, a guy who I have full confidence in, did the work. He said that hed drilled the old bit out with a carbide bit on his mill. He was very carefull when drilling not to go too deep, but he said when he finally got to the bottom of where the easy out was stuck, there was an opening into the housing itself. Is one or more of the bolts that hold the o2 housing on a hole that goes through to the exhasut housing? Like a "wet hole" so to speak.
Since it was drilled, there is the possibility there may be a shaving of metal in there now...is there any way to get anything out? Remove the housing? Easy? Compressed air?

Please let me know what you think.
I just got this turbo, and I will feel better when it is all set to go.

Thanks

Just roll the turbo around till it comes out the inlet to the turbine housing. Shavings won't hurt it even when the engine fires up.

OK, but is this normal how the bolt hole goes through to the exhaust housing? It seemed weird to me, but the guys at a local race shop told me it was fine...its a reputable shop, but sometimes even knowledgable engine builders are a bit clueless when it comes to TD's...LMK what you think.

Thanks

OK, thats a great relief to me .
But what is the best way to remove any such shavings?
I mean I am doubt anything even went in there, but... I want to be sure. I don't need to have any problems.

Thanks for the input

I have the turbo out of the car, so there will be no problem checking it out when I get it back. I don't really think there is anything in there, but I want to be sure

Thanks"thumbs up
