been tryin to figure my 89 turbo van out, it just has no balls!!! but goin down the highway at 65 it runs fine, just under acceleration. its rough, and no get up and go. It's all stock, not sure if the turbo is even working! any help is greatly appreciated.
PS. it's got real bad fuel milage.

do you have a boost gauge? you might need to get one and see if your turbo is pushing out anything,or you might have a vac leak somewhere under hood,check the vac line from the wastegate to the turbo,see if thats needs reeplaced try to touch any and all vac lines to see if any of them are broken or will break,if they are hard and plastic like replace them.

Have you checked for trouble codes?

Could be many things but if your fuel mileage is really bad I would go for the O2 sensor.

yeah think im going to look into the cam timing first then others. I got to get this thing runnig right! Thanks for the help guys!!!:big grin:

I had same problems... 1st I swapped in a new HEP, it helped some but it still lacked... checked the cam timing and sure nuff, it was off, fixed it and now I got a healthy 12 lbs of boost!
