Converting 86 T1 turbo Too a T2...

is it possible too just swap the compressor housing from a T2 turbo onto an 86 T1 Garrett? as my understanding states that they are the same except for the compressor housing correct?

Yes! But ... you'll need to plug the EGR tube opening on the swingvalve, and you'll need to slightly re-orient the wastegate actuator.

how do I plug it? with a bolt right??? but what kinda metal in the bolt??? is there on an an 87 T2 turbo cause i have one that has sheard off SV bolts
