as it stands right now i am almost positive i will need a new turbo. perfect time for an upgrade you say....... well iu'm not looking to go crazy or anything, but was thinking of getting it rebuilt to super 60 specs.

Now i'm not planning on running anything over 20psi, well maybe a little, you never know. But i want to know how much more power will a super60 turbo be making at the same boost, say 20psi, over a stock T2?right now i only have a stock IC, but bigger is in the future [in the garage actually].

from what i've read the stock intercooler is the biggest restriction when when you raise the boost. but then since you say the turbo needs to be rebuilt, then maybe upgrading the turbo wouldn't be bad either. if your turbo just needs a $100 rebuild kit and no machining or balancing then i would just do that and get the better intercooler. but also if you have the money just get a hybrid turbo, better intercooler, and a custom cal.

ha i wish it just needed a simple rebuild, but no the shaft snapped and destroyed the exhuast turbine, and put some dings in the housing as well.

As for having money....... nope

Right now the t2 turbo will work fine, but as soon as you start opening things up(head porting, big i/c) the garrett will not work fine. I'd find a super 60.

Without swapping in a better IC, going to a larger turbo isn't going to give you too much of a gain. I'd say if you're going to stay at 20 psi or so, go with a stock T-II and spend your extra money on a better IC.
