Custome Turbo Van help

To start off let me just say that I am new to Turbo Dodge cars. I have owned three dsm's and all of them I had running 12's at over 5280 ft of elevation (colorado).

Now for the van......I love it so far but I am look to install larger injectors and an Apexi s-afc because i have one laying around. If you are not sure what an s-afc is then i suggest you goto www.apexi.com and look it us. It is an aif/fuel control device that lets you trick the ecu into thinking that there is more or less air coming in. This alows you to add or take out fuel up to 50%. My problem is that I can't find a pin out of the ECU. Anyone ever done this or know where I can find a pinout.

My second question is the van has 191k on it and what should I look for in terms of breaking besides the automatic POS tranny that they have. Thanks for all your help and I hope to run 12's at this elevation even if it mean rebuilding with forged everything. Thanks!

I have not used one, so this is only an opinion based on the APEXI site. Here are some considerations:

The unit seems to be primarily desiged to fool an air flow sensor. TDs don't have one of those. That leaves you with fooling some other sensor, possibly the map or the tps. fooling those sensors may have other undesirable side affects in TDs.

For example if you fool the computer into thinking you have more boost, then you will hit overboost shutdown, If you fool it into thinking it has less boost, then your timing may be affected.

Personally, I wouldn't go that route. Instead, possibly buy a calibration for the bigger injectors or play with the fuel pressure. Good luck!

i think it might play with the O2 sensor as well, which might not be the best route to take either.

The way that it is used on a DSM is it fools the ecu by interuptiong the mass air sensor. The van has a mass air sensor which means it can be interupted but as you said it may have other side effects. I am just going to give it a shot. see what happens. The engine was replaced about 40k ago so it still has some life. I got a pinout and I can take pics and tell you the side effects if you would like.
