I've had this rattle in the turbo area for a little while thought it might be the wastegate flap because i found out the rod is rotted away, but if i hold that flap and/or move it the rattle dosent change! Any ideas? And as far as i can see the exahaust is not loose!

P.S. do you guys know what the base timing on a 89 2.5 turbo is a got something that says 12 is that right?

Thanks for the help!!

Take the intake hose off the turbo and grab a hold of the shaft/nut inside. If you have any up/down/sideways movement, your turbo bearings are about shot. A little in/out movement is normal.

Yep, 12° is the factory base timing.
