i installed the g-valve not to long ago in the tona,
hopeing to reach somewhere around 13-14 psi.

she pulls hard but at 10-11 around 4000 rps the car just stops pulling and the engine feels like its....i guess the best way to describe it is struggling/ pulseing but my gauges both stock and autometer(installed off the brake boost line) tell me that im making 10-11psi boost.

i installed the grainger at the wastegate and the turbo nipple (with a new vac line ofcourse)
and blocked off the vac line to the wastegate solenoid.
i get no spiking or creep.
and it works fine on the low setting, (stays at 4psi thoughout the rpm range)

im wondering
1. is this what cutout feels like on the later models? (ive read its like hitting a wall on earlier years)

or 2, is it my bov not holding the pressure?
its a turbo xs without any tensioners (its rated from 10 to 25psi)

If its not jerking you around, its not cutout! In my lancer, boost cut feels like both front tires just had blowouts. Even a worse feeling than that is when a charge pipe pops off at 16psi.

How does your a/f look at 11psi?

Might be an ignition problem.

i have an egt, it stays "in the zone"
1350 f

doh, i think its just the wastegate can and the g valve working together, i lowered the psi to around 8 and i felt the same thing.
but it still doesnt feel like its pulling as hard as it should be.

i have to find some spacers for that bov. then see what happends.

Try new plugs gapped at .028 and see if it gets better. If it does, then it is an ignition problem.

update,

it seems to only bog if i go wot

if i keep my foot maybe about 60-80% she flys like a mofo

the higher the rpms the more i can put my foot down without the bogging (hit the rev limiter at about 94% to the floor, seen about 11.5 psi)

but trying to go wot in low rpms = bog

me now thinking that computer is putting to much fuel before the air gets there (do to the long ic pipes)
or maybe the spark plugs?

suggestions??

btw...i hit 105 kmh in second before i hit the limiter (thats 62 mph methinks....its a 523)

sloride...

since you changed the gap on your plugs, have you noticed if your EGT's have risen??? What kinda plugs are you using??? I use Champion RN12yc, and ama bout to goto an 11 with a .028 gap for a simular problem.

the new plugs i put were the same as yours,
champion rn12yc

i currently have them gapped at .35 (or .9 mm) which is stock... up here in Canada anyway, im running about 12 psi

egt is slightly higher but its because cyclinder 2, 3 were not firing wot, but cruising temps are normal.

before you drop to 11's,

check your timing first, if thats ok then,
depending on how much boost your running (i guessing stock) i suggest you increase the gap to stock settings .35 (slightly longer spark time)
if it does'nt fix your problem, get 4 new champion plugs rn12yc, gapped .35 .... mine were already gapped at .35 so i just tossed them in.

if your still getting the same trouble your ignition could be messed up, or it could be your fuel system.

you have'nt said your exact problem, but if its like mine, it could easily be fixed by new spark plugs

ps. if your not sure how old your plugs are, they are too old.

Sorry about that. See a lot of my problem is my calibration...which sadly, i will have to speak to the seller about. I am running a 3 bar cal, with the boost setting at 17 psi. Car is a 2.5 with a stock intercoooler and a stock garett. i am getting break up at 2000-2500 rpm, just crusing. Then at wot, it will break up again....Thinking again, it may be signs of the coil showing it's age. But i really think it is an ignition thing. Oh....and it is a 90 lebaron, so it is the sbec coputer. Thanks!!

With my boost set to 7psi - if I floor my car in a higher gear (3rd at 10mph) ors omething like that I boost like I am supposed to but I don't really feel any pull until the RPMs get like 2k+

If I floor my car in 2nd at 10mph I fly like a mofo =)

I haven't gone past 4500rpm though - so I can't tell you what the very top end is like - perhaps sometime I will have the guts to take it up there! Or I will be in a race and have to!
