I am just about to buy a new turbo. My motto is nothing is ever big enough so I am going with a super 70. Anyone with some info on time with it on a caravan? I will be using three intercoolers in parallel to provide the cool air. Fuel system is custtom but could handle 1000hp if I could make it. Thanks!

I am getting the on from

There are much better turbo choices. The Super 70 is kinda small..

You run a 2.5L....

I would get a t3/4E 50 trim with as stage II or III exhaust wheel and a .63 exhaust housing. Good for 400+ hp with a stock T3 compressor cover 450 with a t4 compressor cover.. but trust me.. not needed.

Here's some 1/4 mile info for you.

Stock garret turbo stock I/c 14 psi boost 2600 lbs race weight 101.5mph

Super 70 turbo Twin I/c 14 psi boost 103.5-104 mph

Exact same set-up but with a t3/4E 50 trim stage II .63 exhaust. 107-108mph consistantly

I don't mean to steal this thread or anything, but I'm going to be in the market for a new turbo here in a couple of months. Is anyone running one of the hybrid "Tranny Buster" turbos from turbosunleased?? It seems like it's a very large turbo, I'm just not sure what all the different trims mean, and what would flow the best and put up the most HP. BTW it will be going on a 2.5. Thanks.

Relentless Performance. Now, I've had a ton of people tell me that the stock compressor cover I run (machined for the T4 wheel) is going to kill me, But GARY recommended it, I went with it, I'm very pleased so far. The results given were with the stock computer and 32 psi fuel pressure running +40's. I'm still need to tune the RP calibration in with the new engine getting installed soon. Looking for 350-400 whp depending on boost level.

You have a 2.5 so Stage III turbine is what you want.

To run that turbo, You better have ALL your bottlenecks taken care of. that means:

3" exhaust
FULL out head ($1000-1800)
at least a ported ex manifold (some sort of header better)
Maximum fueling ability
Custom calibration a PLUS
A TU 3" swing valve (work of art)
Minimum a dual core stocker i/c (3 is better)
Chris can tell ya more, call him. Easy to talk to.

I'm going to send him an e-mail when I get closer to completion, right now I'm saving $$ and buying parts so when I put the 2.5 in everything will be in. I'm planning on getting everything listed above with the exception of the FULL out head, I was going to use maybe a NEW stock factory head that will be cleaned up a bit. Also a cummins intercooler. Thanks for the info.

Get some sort of a port job... It will be the bottleneck. Heck, even spending $600 on the head will be an improvement.

Ken how far are you from Ft.Knox? I got to scout school when I get back from Iraq and I was wondering if you would liek to hang out and I could pick your brain over a few cold ones?

I just got a re-up bonus that a good portion of it is going into the re-building of my van.

No problem guys! Glad to do it!

Sounds like a good time. Wont be for awhile though. I get back from here in March and then go to scout school in September. I already have a laundry list of stuff I am going to get from FWD performance. I figure I will drive down there when I go on R&R leave (rape and run lol) here in a few, should save on shipping. The only thing I am debating on are should I get the new turbo while I have it apart or wait till I get back from Knox. I figure I have 3 good months to get the van up and running as I plan on driving it there?

Well about all I have right now is time...

Thanks guys!

Jeff
