I want to get rid of the Mitsu in my 89 Carrotvan. I'd still like to use the 2-1/2" swingvalve if possible. I'm thinking a Garrett t-3 around 16-18 lbs. Don't do strip work with it, but drive about 30 miles to and from work at hwy spds. I've already got an MP intercooler( I know, it was FREE.) What do you guys think? Can ya hep a newbie brutha out?

The CarrotVan! DUDE! LOL!

Anyways.. go to a junkyard and see if you can find an 84-87 Turbo I or turbo I 2.2L chrysler product and get the turbo off of it. (check the shaft first to see if the bearings have tolerable or no play in them)

Take it home and go to http://www.thedodgegarage.com/ and click on "Turbo Database" and then section 25, "How to convert a 84-87 Turbo I turbocharger to 87-89 Turbo II spec" and follow the instructions there.

I just found all this out in this thread. http://www.turbododge.com/showthread...threadid=27239

or you could just go get an 87-89 Turbo II unit...

Hope I've been a little help.

Thanks, Barron; T1's are pretty rare in my locale. I'm thinkin about a new or reman unit. I'd like to keep my swingvalve(just got new exhaust) They tell me it's a 2-1/2 outlet.

The Mitsu swingvalve won't bolt on to a Garret turbo...different bolt pattern.
