Im going to be getting an 89 CSX and i want to upgrade it to T2 because i would like to get the car into the 12s with the stock intercooler if at all possible.

My question is what turbo should i go with to what setup on the turbo. I was thinking just super 60 but i dont know. Im not real keen on turbo configs. I want something with good spool up and would be able to work with the stock intercooler. I want to get low 13s or high 12s. Max boost i want to run will be in the 25-26 range.

My friend Mike has a stock exhaust housing and wheel and a t4 compressor wheel in a stock housing. His car gets up and goes like hell but it just seems kinda laggy or something isnt quite right with it.

I never really got around to changing the turbo on an 8v car. I did on my 16v and it worked out great.

so what do you guys think would be a good combo for my 89 CSX at full weight to try to get me low 13s high 12s??

Will be very difficult since the intercooler will stifle any flow benefits of the larger turbocharger.

Don't get me wrong, it's possible but with a car the size of a CSX the odds are against you.

If your going to retain the stock intercooler get a TII turbo, it's well matched to the factory intercoolers. You could try getting one with a larger compressor to help the intercooler out but we have not seen any gains on the dyno by doing so. A S60 will actually cause you to loose torque since it really doesn't begin to shine till the upper RPM range where the engine is getting throttled off by the intercooler.

Mid 13's with slicks would be a more realistic goal and within reach without to much work.

Want 12's? Get a S60 and a upgraded intercooler, big gains to be found.

Would one of the original super 60 intercoolers help me out any?? I know they flow better but dont cool as well.

Im tryin to keep a stock appearance since the car will be in shows and what not. I could probably still live with mid 13s...im just greedy thats all :-p

Yes the extra flow would help, some race gas would be a real good idea too at the higher boost levels.

If you can do without the a/c that would be to your cooling benefit as far as the intercooler goes.
