1985 Shelby Charger Blow Off Valve

What exactly is a Blow off valve? What does it do, where do I get one, and where does it install. I have a 85 Shelby charger, I assume stock turbo, what would the stock turbo be by the way. And also, is a bov worth the while, does it improve performance. Thanks,

A BOV blows off the excessive boost pressure between the throttle and the turbo hence it won't work on your car if it still has the stock TI setup (because the throttlebody is before the turbo) It's been said by some to bend the throttle body plate in extream conditions,
It's a good idea when running higher boost pressures to help keep the strain off the turbo
E-bay or a junkyard is a good place to look
The stock Eagle talon/ Eclipse metal style works great for our cars
