Nothing like a little aluminum paint to eliminate decades of wear! Add some black semi gloss and you have a decent look!

For the valve cover I used VHT wrinkle paint. Spent a while preparing the vc in the blast cabinet with the baffle removed from the vc. The wrinkle went on in three coats, each medium thickness.

The first I sprayed horizontally, the second vertically, and last on a 45 diagonal waiting ten minutes between coats. Once the final coat was on I put the vc in my shop oven. 250 degrees for 90 minutes. The Result is awesome. Exactly what I was hoping for.

The belts used here all came with my under drive pulley. When I installed them I was unable to use the ac belt, since my ac compressor is not the r-12 original. It is an r-134 compressor from a newer model car, and it has a smaller pulley. Got another belt for that.

Some things I have yet to do:

Vacuum block to replace the temporary lines pictured above
Fwdperformance fuel rail, mine is cracked. Brazing won't hold.


Can't start it until I at least get the rail replaced.

I am getting pretty far along in my engine break in period. Looking forward to turning the boost back up on my controller!

And I found one leak. The turbo oil return flange. Seems the gasket (paper) is junk.

So,

I see a two piece intake, an ishahara & Johnson crank scraper, a UDP, and an NOS Mopar Performance cam pulley with multi keyways. I found that cam pulley in an old mp catalog from like 1991 to confirm what it was...

Does it have gobs more torque? Did the mileage improve?
Where do you find this stuff?

I dont have any hard numbers on torque output to share, but it sure feels strong down low. The IJ scraper and underdrive pulley let the engine run a little easier and rev more quickly. Free up some good power.

Have not focused on the mileage during my break in. Start tracking it soon since break in is almost done.

As for where to get the parts, most are from a well known forum member and vendor, FWD Performance. Others, like the new old stock stuff, are from tribal knowledge. Some of these parts were aquired back when the gettin was good and have been waiting in storage for years. Like my NOS radiator intercooler. And the multi keyway sprocket.
