I ran 14 psi on my log style 86 CS for yrs(frozen wastegate). I even used to run 87 octane, cheap oil, and go 10,000 kms or more between oil changes!! Amazing the car made it to 320,000 kms before the floor rotted out and the turbo blades hit the housings.
( In my defense......I didnt know any better back then guys. I knew my car had a turbo, but couldn't tell you wher eit was or what it did...for all I knew, my boost fluid was low,LOL)

I am not suggesting you run around at 14 psi on sh!tty gas. You won't likely destroy your engine if you run 14 psi with 93-94 octane gas, till you get a tank of crappy gas and try boosting 14 psi on a hot day...but you'd see alot more HP gain if you ran an intercooled 14 psi vs. a non-intercooled 14 psi.

Just my $0.02....do with it what you will....just remember that I am just telling you my experience here, and it is not to say your car will or won't fail doing the same thing. The overall theme here is: for safety's and performance's sake, get an intercooler.

The 14 psi cal for the non-intercooled cars works great no need to do anything special, just make sure you use good gas, premium of course.
Thanks,
Cindy
