I'm looking for some pics of mods people have done to get the outlet to clear the cyl head. I've searched and poked around but couldn't find any here. I want to weld an elbow and want to show the welder what has been done before. I'm going for a as stock looking as possible approach.

Thanks

Go here:

and scroll down near the end of the page. He has a pic of where/how to grind a little off the head to get clearance.

Oops! Beat me to it!

Looked the links over but I'm actually looking for one that I saw some time back. It looked very much like a T2 outlet neck but was on the T3/T4 setup.

Anyone?

TIA

sounds like your thinking of a t4 wheel inside a t3 cover.

I don't think so. What I saw looked like the .63 housing I have but the outlet was modified so it was just like a stock T2 outlet size and location.

Maybe your thinking of the FM E3 hybrid, it has a T04E wheel inside a modified T04B comp housing.

Here's a pic of mine, on the left is the FM turbo with a 50 trim wheel & on the right a 50 trim wheel in a T3 comp housing.

Pretty close. My housing is a Turbonetics with a straight outlet (not bent/curved like yours) and has no mounting pad for the Wastegate Can Bracket. What I saw was a housing like mine that had been modded at the outlet neck to look like the T2 outlet so the stock IC hose would matchup. Very well done job whoever did it.

I can always take a guess at the position and angle or if I can locate a pic of a stock T2 on the cyl head for a visual.

Or I could disaasemble my GLHS to take my own pic but it's my daily driver.
