Anyone ever use one to control boost?

I gotta say for a bleed valve this thing works excellent. Its all brass and believe me its not as bad as a fish tank valve I would know...

Anyways I got it hooked up and I was expecting massive spike and there isnt any at all. So im posting this to hear what you guys think about my cheapness.

BTW... It cost $6 US and I got it from Home Depot.
