Mitsu Boost issues

OK my turbo isn't dead after all, I unplugged the wastegate from vacuum and voila', she boosts! Before I had 5-6 psi for a while, then it would only give me about 3 psi. Even hammering it to redline, I only had 3 psi with no creep at all.

With the wastegate unhooked I had to pedal it after about 2 seconds to avoid passing up my fuel limitations.....It shot to 14 PSI in a hurry, and wanted to keep going.

Is my solenoid sticking?

Or is it just G-valve time? :thumbs up

BTW this is an '89 2.5 T-1/Intercooled/mitsu turbo

i would think you have a leak somewhere, make sure everything is nice and tight

It's all tight. I think the problem was in my solenoid, but I'm not really sure. I'm definitely gonna ditch the solenoid and go grainger, though...

I would bet on the wg solenoid...

Same thing happened to me... just the opposite, it would overboost instead of underboost. Theres a long story behind mine.

If I unhooked the solenoid and hooked it back up it would only boost like 5, then after like 3 days of driving it would overboost again.
