I'm swapping out the VNT turbo in my 90 Daytona to a turbo from a Shelby Lancer. Will I have any problems with bolting up the downpipe? As I recall the VNT had a 2.5" outlet and the Garrett off the Lancer has a 2.25". I'm thinking of upgrading the swingvalve to a 2.5 if the budget allows. Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

I believe it will bolt up fine. The problem was with the early (pre-88) T1 2.25" swing valves, which has the bolt closer together. In that case, it can be made to fit with a little grinding though.

I put an 89 Garret on my 90 CS to replace the vnt and it bolted right up. Even used the same donut. If the turbo is off of an 88 then I am not sure.

Thanks guy's for the info. Is it worth it to do the swingvalve upgrade to the 2.5 outlet for a daily driver car?

Can't hurt. I'm putting a 3" on my driver.

Best I can remember mine did not bolt up. My new turbo at the time came with a 2 1/4" swing valve. Had to get a 2 1/2, which I though I was going to get with the turbo anyways.
