Any one running one of these gt turbos? I was considering a hybrid and and got a recomendation of a gt series from TU. Quicker spool better flow due to improved air dynamics smaller package less rotational mass more durability than standard t3 t4 turbos
Just wanted to talk to someone who actually had one on thier car before i spent the cash . heres my contact info or just throw it up here on this thread

From what I've heard the GT series turbos are suposed to be the next generation in turbo technology. I've seen some of their maps compared to your standart T3 turbo, and they are capable of great things. They are suposedly upwards of 75% efficient capable of creating larger ammounts of boost out of smaller turbo's with greatly reduced lag.
For instance, their replacement for the venerable T3/T04 hybrid is a T28/T04, that spools even faster, can make more boost and is suposedly much more durable. I read a industry report in a aftermaket mag about them and it had allot of good things to say about their performance and reliability. The only down side I can see so far is thier price, most exceeding the 1.5k mark, far too much for your average tuner.
Lets hope the price comes down soon, until then, we will do with what we have.

Holset? They don't make anything small. You might make a couple PSI at redline! The turbine housing are too big! Even the HY35 off an Automatic CTD has a 9 CM housing, very restrictive to them but still too big for us!

Mark Palleschi has tried a Holset from a Cummins on his old 2.5 GLHT. It made boost, and sppoled okay. In fact limitting the boost was his biggest problem..It would just keep climbing over 40 psi. It was uncontrollable, so he swapped it out for a hybrid.
