Actually, the 2.5 is off of the compressor map of the mitsu at stock boost as it is, so even the compressor sucks. It gets REALLY ugly at 14+psi though, hence the tons of heat you guys are seeing.

This thread makes me wonder when does the smaller TDO4 Mitsu turbo found on SRT-4s and PT turbos becomes unneficient?

I have seen a difference in the Mitsu compared to the Garrett, I give the Mitsu credit for the spool up but once it hit about 4000 rpm, it's out of breath or starting to think about it. Also very well noted was the decrease in gas mileage, I dropped from 36mpg down to 25/26 mpg in a good tail wind, the backpressure must be hiddious and restrictive to not be able to flow..man I can't wait to get my Garrett serviced so it can go back on the car. :-)

Same thing.. its inneficient as it rolls off the assembly line. SRT-4's with upgraded turbos are making 50-75 more hp at stock boost levels.
