It also depends on IC choice. . .the mitsu heats things up in a hurry!

15 PSI is usually the max you can run on the stock fuel system. The turbo becomes inefficient or runs out of it's map at around 17-18 PSI or so. People have sqeaked 20 out of them but that severly shortens the life of the turbo and isn't really great for performance anyway. Actually, if you want to look at it this way, the mitsu is not a good turbo for our cars at any level of boost. The turbine housing is severly restrictive and the more boost you run the more that has to flow through the turbine. The backpressure must be a lot at high boost levels. I've run 14 PSI on a mitsu myself, but on a 2.2 not a 2.5. I liked it, but for performance the turbine is just plain too restrictive. The mitsu would be ideally suited on 1.5-1.6 liter engine.

This is exactly correct. The Mitsu's turbine is so small that it will cost you far more horsepower than a drop in compressor efficiency ever could. In fact, that statement is so important I'm going to say it again:

The Mitsu's turbine is so small that it will cost you far more horsepower than a drop in compressor efficiency ever could.

The little-understood-but-outrageously-significant shortcoming of the Mitsu turbo is its horribly undersized turbine. Even if you were to put a substantially larger compressor wheel on the Mitsu (say, a Super60 for example) the tiny turbine would continue to choke your horsepower and largely negate the benefit you are supposed to get from a better compressor.

Compressor efficiency is not the Mitsu's primary problem, so don't worry about it. Just upgrade it!

You really do NOT want to install those components with a stock I/c and turbo. You will flood the poor car with fuel.

3 bar set-ups should ONLY be used with LARGER than GARRET stock turbo's and LARGER I/c's.
