Hey,

In my 89' 2.5L T1 mini i have a turbo xs dual stage boost contoller. My problem is that on the high boost setting it will hold 12 psi from about 3k till 4k then drops to about 10 psi from 4k to about 5k. Then it will boost up to 14+ psi and overboost past 5k. It seems to be the worst in 3rd gear. First gear is fine, 12psi steady. 2nd gear it holds 12psi then drops to 10-11 or so really fast then starts to move to 14psi but just before an overboost is when i shift so it doesn't get a chance to cut out. 4th gear is about the same as 3rd. And 5th seems to be steady although i have never maxed out 5th gear yet.

I thought one of my boost lines were bad so i replaced them (from turbo nipple to boost controller, and from boost contoller to wastegate) still the same problem. Any ideas?

Also this boost controller worked fine in another turbo car. Would hold 8psi steady in all gears on high boost setting.

Sounds like the boost controller. Call TurboX and ask them if they have any advice, or maybe they can send you a new one. Good luck getting ahold of them, I tried calling them and asking about one of thei BOVs and it's almost impossible.
