I thought I'd post and update on the project I've been working on. All that's left is to finish mounting the front turbo and run the dual exhaust under the car.

Will you post what you did and how you acomplished it so people might be able to do something similar? Kind of like the neon head swap guys have been doing?

Looks good. It may be a little tight on the firewall side. But as long as you don't brake your motor mounts, you should be ok. How's the hood fit with the manifold on the front of the motor? I have a Mitsy intake manifold for the sohc 12v motor that I was going to use, then thought I'd sell. But now seeing that it may fit pretty well, I just may keep it for a future project.

What's going to run that DOHC? And just a few more questons. I know you used a TD05-16G on the SOHC. What are you going to use on the DOHC? I see that the turbo over the rear valve cover is a Mitsy(probably the same one you had). If it is the same one, is there a crossover(or under) from the front manifold to the turbo? Or are you just thinking about running it off of just three cylinders?

After everything is done and working right, I'll definitely do a complete write up.

The clearances are tight, but everything fits under the hood with no problems. I'm sure the Mitsu SOHC manifold should fit fine too. To run the engine, I'm going to use an older version of a Haltech standalone.
I'm planning on 400whp, so the single TDO5-16g that I had on the old engine wouldn't be enough. Instead I'm using two TDO5-14b's. This is probably a little bit overkill, but I don't think the turbo lag will be too bad considering the decent low end torque and 10:1 compression ratio.

I will patiently be waiting on the write up. I may even put my DOHC project on the back burner for this one.

What did you use for camshafts? Since the mitsu 3.0 turns the opposite direction from ours, I assume you already have some that will work.

The engine actually rotates in the same direction so I don't have to worry about anything like that. The Mitsubishi transmission has and extra intermediate shaft that reverses the direction of rotation.

Wow you really do learn something every day. I had thought about trying that before I started on my neon head hybrid. Good luck with your project.
