Hello,
Is anyone running one of these? What's your setup. What's boost come on at? I'm thinking about hte GT30R for my 2.2 8v. Ed Peteres head, +1mm valves, 2 piece intake with maybe a custom Plenum, JRB SS Tube header. Looking to make 300-350hp at 25ish psi or less. Please comment if you are or have run one of these. I'm sorry but I don't want to hear "A 50 trim T3/T4 works great, run that" I'm looking for specifics on just these two turbos.

Thanks

Talk to Chris at TU. I think he will be able to point you in the direction of people that are using these turbos...from what I understand some of them don't want to be known they are running them...

Definently talk to Chris, as some of these turbo suppliers are idiots... like ATP. If you are going for just 300-350hp, defiently talk to Chris about if a GT3071R would work, as I think they would be better suited in terms of size and powerband. The GT3071R should give 400whp and GT30R should give about 450whp.

Like the others said, call Chris W at turbos unleashed with what you want to do. I think he only works with gt30r's, but he may do gt3037's as well. However the most important reason to go to chris (besides good advice) is that he has the turbo custom fabricated so that it is a direct bolt on, otherwise you will be forced to build a custom downpipe, modify the exh manifold for the ford flange, and possibly have to use an external wastegate. For the power you want to make, the gt3071r looks like a great match.

I guess I had to read that further on, I had gone through the 1st 3 pages earlier. I'm not concerned with the flange as I can have a GT flange (they the same as ford T3???) welded onto the JRB header I have. I think I'd like to use the whole GT setup. Custom exhaust and swingvalve work doesn't scare me.
Joe's info is great. Although I'd like to hear from someone that knows exactly what housings/wheels he's using and his setup along with when the boost starts to build and where he achieves full boost. Also would like hopefully hear from someone with one of these on a car they drive on the street quite often. Probably alot to ask from the TD community as Most either drive stockish cars or old school mods on the street and then just shove boost at their race cars. I'm trying to build a very streetable race car with an efficient 8v motor that uses lower boost than most people are using and still get great power. I want something that is at home on the drag strip, road course and the street.
