Anyone have any surefire tips to removing swingvalve from high mileage turbo without breaking bolts off? I will have motor out of car, on the ground when I attempt this.

Not possible. Snap them off, drill and re-tap them. Good luck.

You might want to try a torch to heat them up... it's really no guarantee though, they REALLY like to snap off.

this is really funny... i mine came off with some PB blaster and some elbow grease. 90k miles on the turbo, but i had to use the box end of a 7/8" wrench around the ratchet's handle to get enough leverage.

the turbine housing bolts on the other hand were a PITA, heat, lube, reapeat.

good luck, Shane

almost 300,000 kms on this one.....maybe I will just sell the bigger swingvalve bolted up to a new T2 turbo instead of bothering with the hassle.
