It's Dawes, and mine seems to work pretty well. You really only need to know if you're rich or not with an AF, as far as I can tell, and this certainly does that.

I'm assuming you mean the Dawes a/f meter. I love mine, drilled some holes in the gauge cluster and put the lights through it, its not in the way and I can see the lights perfect in the middle of a sunny day. Much better then trying to look at a 10-light unit.

I like mine, the remote unit. Pretty accurate. Splice the ground into the ground for the O2 sensor. Grounding it to the negetive battery post can give you a false rich reading. Grounded to the battery my gauge lit up the blue light with a 13:1 mixture.

Hello. I bought this gauge from TU a few months back and finally installed it. The thing that surprised me most after all was set up was how bright the 4 lights really are; I mean HID. I used a piece of masking tape on the steering column with the lights pointed towards me so it would flash between the steering wheel at my face; not a good idea, almost lost control of the car when they first lit up. This was at night by the way, even though the lights are very readable during the day, it would not be nearly as bad, but my install went into the wee hours of the morning and it was still dark when I took the test drive. A good idea is to mount in side ways towards the passenger side window and you can read it just staring out the windshield; in other words it will reflect on the glass for easy reading without blinding your eyes. Another thing, the three wires off the back of the gauge are darn small at 22 awg and short so you will almost certainly need to solder sizeable extensions off each one. The gauge is also VERY light. When I recieved the package I thought it was empty. Overall though, I am very pleased with it and though it tends to flash a whole lot during cruising like the round style a/f meters, it is still a whole lot less likely to drive you nuts like they do, and it is specifically made for our turbo cars. Last thing, buy the gauge from Chris at TurbosUnleashed. He deals with Darren directly, otherwise you may be disappointed ordering directly from Darren himself as he doesn't seem to know much how to run a business, no phone # on his site, etc. Thanks for reading!

Regarding the comments by Weston; Sorry about the phone number and contact info....I do this part-time and there just isn't enough time to answer all the inquiries I get. So, rather than quit it altogether, I leave the site up and figure that people will find me based upon reputation. Hopefully, that POs fewer people than ignoring their questions
However, I encourage everyone to buy from Chris at TU, as he has the time to treat you right!
Regards,
Darren Dawes

In his defense, he does say they are bright and that you could mount it beaming at the windshield. Also, you look before you cross the road-right? so that logic would apply to newly installed guages, parts etc.
Anyhow, I love his product and recommend them to anyone that has a turbo car, they rock!
Although, he never added a line that I asked him too years ago about buying a cut-out raiser when you buy the MBC as the temptation to turn the boost up is too easy and you hit overboost.

Intersting take on grounding the unit IMHO. I have the AutoMeter gage(not by choice, came with the van)...it was grounded to a common gorund in the harness when I got it. It never read right, and would change its reading when I'd turn the lights on. At any rate, I gorunded it straight to the battery and now it reads consistantly all the time...even Gus used to preach about grounding them to the battery...Darren, what's your take on it?

Also would like to know this, as I grounded mine to the sensor, not the battery. Seems to work, but I cannot be sure.
