This may sound a little silly but How do you use the support brace on an aftermarket turbo.
I had a mitsu and the turbine housine has an extra hole for the brace to bolt up to and my new T3/T4 does not?
Also does the TU header move the turbo so that the brace needs to be modified?
I am asking because I thought it was almost necessary to have so the header doesn't crack

Thanks
Matt

I know that there are people who dont run them, and claim that they dont have trouble. However I figure that it is on there for a reason, so might as well run it. The Turbonetics chrysler flange housings have the proper hole for the brace. Dont know about the TU header though.

For the TU header...I think you are specifically NOT supposed to use any kind of brace. The SS used is very strong, but it expands at a much higher rate due to heat than the cast iron stock manifold. The brace can introduce stresses that can make things worse.

Yeah, Chris at TU says not to use one. As for the stock manifold, I modded mine to fit my T3/T4 turbo, figured all that extra weight bouncing around can't be good for the manifold.

I have a threaded hole on my stocker. I would probably just go clamp on style in the future though.

I just asked the same question a few weeks back to Chris Faulk. You can read his response here.
