Right now I have a t3/t4 turbonetics. 46 trim, .63 a/r. I am looking to upgrade to a big holset. I just need to know which holsets are good for 2.2's.

I am looking to make about 350 hp or a little more.

its an 8 valve setup with good headwork, huge intercooler, enough fuel, and nitrous to spool the turbo.

I also have no problem building manifolds or fabricating anything.

thanks

you'll probably need the HY-35 off a 01' auto or maybe a manual if you can find one. the HY-35 has a 9cm exhaust housing whereas the HX-35 has the 12cm housing which might be difficult to spool quickly w/ out juice.

HY35 probably would be the best choice. to make proper use of a HX series you really need to build a pulse header and do an external wastegate.

I do have nitrous so the turbo size really isnt a problem. I also have an external wastegate. hx or hy?

the HY/HX 35 compressor can flow enough air for over 500 hp so if youre not planning on making more than that the HY35 is probably the best choice. the dual scroll exhaust housing on the HX series needs a pulse manifold and carefully designed external wastegate to be able to control boost properly, which is alot of work.

You can cut the center out of the twin scroll on the HX35 about an inch or two and it will be fine. I have the older version which is a WH1C. If it is a mostly street driven car with some time at the track too, then get the HY35. If it's just for the strip, then get the HX35 and shoot a little 35-50hp shot of nitrous to get it spooled. I think the HY will run out of exhaust turbine and would be hard pressed to make it to 500hp. The Hy will make your 350 easily.
