i've read what the dodge garage said about them but still have some q's about manual boost controllers. Would it increase boost by just installing it? Are they hard to install? and is it worth having one?

You have to adjust it to the boost you want, yes you can increase boost by installing it.
Not hard install.
Yes!!! worth having.

You can still run it at stock boost levels or even lower if you want to but it will spool up a hell of a lot quicker with a MBC. May have to tweak the spring in it a bit though. Its very worth installing one just for the spool up benifites. Made a pretty big difference in my van even when it was at stock levels.

Pretty easy to make and install. People sale pre-made ones if you don't want to mess with making them though.

You screw it in to achive more boost.
(gives more pressure on the spring and ball)

I run 17 psi in my van without touching the fuel system.
I do have a calibration, but there is enough system, maybe not enough fuel on a stock table. You would want to consider a 5th injector.

What do you do about the stock vaccum/boost routing to the wastegate and wastegate solenoid when you hook up a MBC? Does anyone have a (home-made is fine) routing diagram using MBC?

i pulled the line off from the soleniod, but left the electrical hooked up, the check engine lamp will light up if its not connected. i ran a vacum line from the tubo output nipple through the g valve and then to the wastegate and set it just below the factory fuel cut, wich is 14.7psi. i will be needing to add the 5th injector as i do have some detonation at part throttle and 9+ lbs of boost.

a junkyard. Read over the dodgegarage over and over and over and over to get a feeling.

I run 10psi on my '85 with no ill effects. Without an intercooler, and GOOD gas, this is all I will run...

If you install a new intake and intercooler, you could get to just below cutout (~14psi on a TII). Keep in mind that boost-cutout on an 85 is ONLY 11 psi, and it hurts when it kicks in (still have a sore nose).

A 5th injector can get you a little higher, but over 11 psi with the stock logic module and you'll need to put something in to keep the computer from seeing more than 11 psi from the MAP sensor.

Just pull off the line that leads to the wastegate and plug it....then just put the MBC in between the turbo nipple and the wastegate, and your done...if you don't have a nipple on your turbo (my hybrid doesn't), you can tap into the manifold source, or you can always add a nipple to your turbo (but that seems pointless to me).
