I am just about to swap out a rebuilt 2.2 into my 85 SC. It has been built right, but I am also on a budget so I am re-useing some parts, turbo included. That leads me to my question.. The motor I rebuilt came with a turbo that had the word Garret on it I think it said A/R .42 or maybe .43 cant remember right now. Is this a stock turbocharger?

On the motor I pulled from my SC, I was planning on running the turbo it had because I've been driving the car and know that the turbo is good. But I think that it may be an aftermarket unit. On the turbo it has "Air Research" stamped on it.. I do not see an A/R # for that side but the A/R # stamped into the other half of the turbine housing is the same on each seperate turbocharger. Does anybody know if this is a stock unit,, or maybe an aftermarket inlet housing??
This turbo spooled up nicely, and made around 10-11 psi of boost with a mopar performance computer, looked like it hit 12 once in awhile at peak.

Both units look exactly alike otherwise,, both came off of 2.2L T1 cars,, all the lines, exhaust, wastegate,, everything else are identical

I was just wondering if anybody had some info they could share
Thanks!
