I have a 91 Shelby Daytona, and we are having some turbocharger problems right now, it has the Mitsu turbo right now, and we found an 85 Shelby Z in town at salvage, front end is fine, so I was wondering how the turbo off of the 85 Shelby Z 2.2L would compare to the mitsu one on my 91, both are stock. Also would the turbo off the 85 first right on the 91 fine, or would u have to switch more parts for it to work properly?

Also, the problem we are having with our car right now, is it won't push past 2.5psi boost. We figure it would be in the vaccum lines. We went through everything last night. We tryed goin direct from the BOV to the wastegate, to see if it would even make any boost at all, and it shot through the roof on the guage without even barely hittin the gas at all, so we figured that was not right and put it back to how it was. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

Thanx

The turbo on the 85 would be a garrett, it is actually an upgrade from the mitsu. You may want to check out http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo.html you should be able to find all of the information you want on there. Also the head on the 85 flows more than the head on your stock engine, it also lowers the compression by .5 so you can run more boost.

ya it will fit but read and do as the dodge ga. says/ when you clock the out let set it up and the head out of car to make sure it in the right spot. you have to drill a hole in the wastegate arm / plug the egr tube / to use the exth. houseing you will have to slot the flange as the garrett is 2 1/4 and mish was 2 1/2 out let or up grade you 85 to 2 1/2/ you oil lines will work the older ones will be brital just replace with rubber line ALS
