I did a search on here and after some reading and research I think I may have created my own monster. I think all my mods have added up to contribute to my current boost creep problem. (Ported head, oversized valves, full 3" exhaust, no CAT, no muffler) My vacuum line to the waste gate actuater is new and tight, so I'm thinking the ol waste gate can no longer keep up with the amount of exhaust bypass needed to control boost? The turbo in question is a Garrett 60 trim pirated from a Ford Merker XR4Ti. Is my only option to start porting the bypass hole in the turbo exhaust housing?

also, i believe if you enlarge the vaccum lines going to the wastegate, it will see a more instant/current/accurate (pick one ) signal. Again, I'm not sure if that's correct; but if it is, you may have to adjust your bosst controller to compensate, if you have one.

Yep.. I got a manual boost controller. Good idea though on the external bypass. I'll give that some thought.

hey what kind of boost you running?

I wanted to turbocharge my jeep when i had it - i actually came VERY close to doing it, but i had to sell it for financial reasons. Have you ever spoken to 'paintedgirl'? she's had a turbo 2.5 jeep for a while now, and has gotten some impressive results.

but anyway, take a look at my jeep if ya want

well, now it belongs to some 50 year old bodybuilder with white hair and the biggest man titties i've ever seen in my life

LOL (man titties)
I've run 18psi on occasion, but usually I'm around 15psi. Never talked to "paintedgirl", I'll have to give her a pm and find out about her Jeep!
I'll check out your Jeep

Just checked the members list and "paintedgirl" isn't there? Maybe she no longer frequents the board?

After going through every vacuum line with a microscope I found the culprit of the boost creep. A vac line at one point or another was rubbing on the power steering pully and walah (small pin hole). Replaced the line and all seems to be back to normal. It's always the little things.
