Reducing heat will help reduce the chances of detonation. You also want a compressor that's going to be producing boost in an RPM range it was designed to work.

In short, the GN turbo has a turbine side designed to flow the exhaust of a 3.8L/231ci engine. It also has a compressor side designed to flow enough air to generate 10-12psi of boost on a 3.8L/231ci engine. The T-I was designed for a 2.2L/135ci engine. It will work in you setup, don't get me wrong, its just that it will be overworked and as such, it will be generating more heat than a more properly sized turbo would.

Avoiding overboosting can be taken care of in other ways, namely an external wastegate, though that's probably a bit more involved than you want to get in this setup.

An aside, I never realized the 225 and the 2.2 had the same bore. I've been following this thread, and nosing around on my own and came across THIS. Scroll down to the section about the long rod 225. Though if you use that recipe to build a 225 turbomotor, I wouldn't recommend using the pistons they recommend there. Either use OEM stock pistons, or go with forged (probably better idea anyhow).

If this isn't a thing of beauty, I don't know what is...

Though I admit, I'd do it a bit differently. He's got 6 individual TB's! I'd go w/just a single large one, and thus shorten the runner length.

Man, that thing is a beauty! Looks like he used a Clifford manifold for Weber carbs. I agree with the one, maybe 2 plate throttle setup. Brand F 5.0s use a pretty good size single and their trucks use a dual setup.

Not to completely hijack Finman's thread here...but the one issue I can see by going with a single TB would be it's placement on the plenum, and the impact its placement would have on individual cylinder rich/lean conditions.

Mount it on the front of the plenum and the first cylinder or two will be rich, and the last two will be leaner since they would get more air.

Put it in the middle of the plenum w/an elbow or something, and the middle two cylinders get the bulk of the air and the two at the ends get less.

Maybe some sort of grouping of the runners would help. Or going w/two TB's would help.

Come to think of it, the 6 TB's isn't bad, it's just a bit bulkier than that would prefer to employ...

9.80's in the 1/4 and 6.10's in the 1/8 on 12# of boost. Cant argue with that set-up!
