how do you determine what spring pressure is needed for the gate? when they refer to 7,8,14 psi does that mean it takes that much to make it work?

usually it means the spring will set the boost at the given number. that would be the boost level you would get by just hooking the reference line straight to the intake. adjust it up from there with a grainger valve.

exactly.....basically, just don't use the 14 if you ever planning on running less than 14psi . I use a 7, and let the boost controller do the rest, just like X said... It's nice to be able to detune the car quickly and easily like that...keep an extra piece of vaccum line cut to size....pop off the line with the MBC on it and pop on the new line straight to the gate, and voila....15 second 7psi "valet mode"
