are mitsu and garret swingvalve the same?

turns out the swingvalve i had i now cant find but i can get one pretty cheap from a garret and my turbo is a mitsu. any difference or any chance i can use the garret seingvalve on the mitsu?

Not only is the bolt pattern wrong. But, the Mitsy unit has it's swingvalve built into the turbine housing. Whereas the Garrett's swingvlave is a part of the O2 housing.

wait........ mine has a seperate o2 housing. the o2 mount is built into the swingvalve on my car. the swingvalve just bolts to the side of the turbine housing. ummmm maybe i dont have a mitsu. how do you tell? im just going by what the previous owner told me.

winkle is saying the little flapper that controls the boost is part of the turbine section on the mitsu turbos, and is part of the swingvalve on the Garrett turbos. You can tell which one you have by looking at the compressor cover. It will either say Garrett or Mitsubishi.
