I went to the salvage yard today and noticed a 2.2 turbo probe. I have heard that the ford turbos breath a little better then the factory Dodge ones. Is this true? If so, how hard would it be to make it work on an 87 SC? Is it worth my time? Second question: The same car had an intercooler. Is it compatible with my 87 and is it better or worse then Dodge intercoolers? What do you guys think?

thats not a ford
seriously, its mostly mazda design. when people talk about turbofords, they are referring to the domestic 2.3L engine rwd cars.
the probe turbo is quite small, certainly not an upgrade for turbo dodges (probably not even for the mitsu ones). the intercooler is ok as far as intercoolers go, but far from a good design such as the stock dodge or turboford ones.

I concur. I'm actually using two of them for a twin turbo setup on my 3.0L motor. Well, almost using them.
