I just took my car by the local dodge dealership and they cleared things up for me. Aparently somebody put the 2.2 head + turbo on the 2.5 non turbo short block. Is this a good combo? It has the turbo 1 injectors, 27 lb that I'm swapping right now for the 2.5 turbo 33 lb/hr. Glad it didn't blow up @20psi!

No not a good combo. Compression to high and not the heavy duty turbo rods.

Change to 2.5 turbo pistons and rods = Good combo

20psi is a lot for stock injectors even with the 33lb injectors.

This is what I get for trusting the dealership. I searched this foroum and found the thread on cheking casting numbers, and, well, the dealership f'd me outta $80. I have an 87 2.2 block with the 2.5 non turbo head that was original for the car. (car was originally non turbo) I read the block I have is the weakest one out there, so I have located a commercial 89-up 2.2 short block for $150! I have an e-bay bid on the t2 rods and pistons (hope i win). Now should I run the 2.5 head? I'm guessing it will lower compression, so I can add some more boost?

I had a TBI shortblock and at 12 psi, it lasted a week before meltdown.

Dodge put 2 heads on, G-head and a Swirl head. You should stick with the Swirl head or 782 casting.

Go to this site, turbo database section and read it a few 100 times-
