No you dont have to clearance the block if you're using the 2.2 crank.Ive ran these rods in a 2.2 not the long rods but my own length you'll notice a big difference in how quick rpm's come on.Make sure you get the bearings right that is the main thing and make sure to measure your clearances or you'll have problems.

Im not building it. Im taking it to a known good and qualified machine shop. I got every spec. from FM that needs to be measured and exact for this set up. Mikes does a lot of these in circle track cars but im one of the few doin it in a drag setup.

I know for a fact they fit with no problems, This isnt the first aluminum long rod 2.2 Ive worked on

The #1 killer of aluminum rods is between cold rods , and decel. They like full operating temp and they dont like decel. I have proven the rods can handle it in a different motor (friends car) They took 500hp and decel and whatever else we threw at them. Never had a single issue. And the car was driven on the street all the time....no probs.

X2 + the reaction you get from ppl at the track with an 8v is priceless! They see you drive it there, put on the slicks, trap 133mph, put the street tires back on and driver home. When they look the car over, you can see it in their eye's....how's he doing this? Must be nitrous in there somewhere.

HaHaHa! Yeah.....the fastest my car ever went when I drove it to LVD and swapped tires in the parking lot was 12.0 @120. Then I drove it home. I got my 11 sec pass the next time I trailered it. Good thing too, cause I broke a axle.
