Why is it in a none-commonblock?

It's either one of two things:

#1 could be that it is a tall-deck block. That would mean it would have the stronger webbing and such of the CB, but have the fuel pump boss of the non-CB

#2 could be that is was a Chrysler long block replacement for an early car. I've seen one other of that type...it has all of the CB features, but has the fule block-off plate. REALLY weird, but way cool!

In two of the above pictures you can see that it has the flat pan rail on the back of the block. In the top picture you can see that the rear engine mount ears are filled indicating it has commonblock features. It also looks to have a turbo drain-back in the stock location, but I can't tell if it was factory or not. The one picture you can see the hole, but it's hard to tell if it was origionally there.

My guess is that it is option #2.

Even if it's not a CB, it really doesn't matter much. The non-CB can make a lot of power...more than was origionally thought although it was done with a forged crank.

I am starting this summer on my 86GLH. It has a stock block but its 1mm over, I also have a spare 85 n/t block. Witch block should I use? I want a 11.5 car and 250 hp (about) give or take a few. I also plan on doing all my own port work, let me know what you think.

I don't think you're going to go 11.5 in the 1/4 with 250hp unless you do a LOT of lightening...

Yup...what Reaper said in option #2. This was a later chrysler block. 1992 actually. Its a commonblock thats made to fit in a early configuration. (for warranty's) Its got the straight rear pan rail, longer 6 main studs and thicker webbing but it apppears to be T1 from the outside. Hahaha. It gets a lot of people wondering.

You might go 11.5 in the 1/8. you need considerably more power to hit 11.5. My car made 340 on the dyno then 360 was observed with the external gate and some tuning and the car only went 11.9 .

Very nice!

Now I gotta get my car back right...installed my new tranny...I think the d@mn pressure plate is junk. It's not consistant as far as letting me put the thing in gear.

very nice Luke. that's going to be a great race car when its all done.

so are we going to see at least three 11-second Omnis at LVD/NED this year?
your 86 GLHS, Dave's 85 GLHT, and Jim's 86 GLHS (Jim did quite a bit of new work to the engine over the winter.)

it sure would be great to see all 3 cars at the track on the same day.

Yup! Finished it at 3 today. I put like 50 miles on it tonight with zero problems. I can def. feel the difference in either the rod ratio or just the weight of the aluminum rods. It feels like a monster and i've only got into it like 1/2-3/4 throttle. Feels very healthy. The only prob with the car right now is the stupid signals dont want to work right. It had this prob. last time i drove it, they would stick on then when I tapped the flasher they would work fine. Now they just wont work. I replaced both flashers and still no signals, the hazzards wont work either. WTF! Stupid dodge wiring! And i replaced all the bulbs, still nothing.
