Dropped a freeze plug not to long ago. Got the engine pulled last night and I have 2 very small cracks in opposite directions on the freeze plug hole behind the starter. 1 crack doesn't appear to go all the way across the width of the cast, but probably does. They are both about 1/2 inch long and very hairline. Being such a small crack, can they be fixed? Jb welded or something from both sides? Was thinking of drilling a very small hole at the end of the cracks and then filling it with JB? Here's pics:

that block is done for, you could weld and grind, but I would find another block in the junk yard, 2.2's and 2.5's are cheap and easy to find....In the future use antifreeze, its cheap protection...

+1 Just go yank one out of the nearest salvage yard. So much easier than trying to repair the block you have. And, like snkmug said, they're cheap and easy to find.

I have yet to see one hit any of the yards within 100 miles from here or even in any backyards in the past year. All the stuff we like has already been crushed by the rednecks here.
