I am rebuilding my 2.2L T2. I am trying to find a good machine shop or TDer with the proper torque plate.

Anyone or company has a torque plate for 2.2/2.5 CB block around Vancouver BC, Canada? (or Western Canada)?

If no, then I am considering buying one. Would anyone be interested in renting it locally? or other deals.

Any other advise on TP, usage, $, brands , bolts etc. welcomed.

Thanks. Yes I know.

Reason I asked is that the rental + shipping cost and paper work for crossing the US/CA border would probably pay for a new torque plate in 2 to 4 rentals.

I have 4 TD cars, and there seems to be a few TDers in Western Canada. If there's enough interest, I may as well get my own and may be able to help out the locals.

Maybe a few of us in the NW could split the cost

I got my engine rebuilder to order one. It will take a few weeks to get here. I am picking up the full cost. My engine shop will rent from me when required. I will consider renting it to local TD members. I am assuming for 2.2/2.5 blocks, not sure about the 2.4L

Well its more like the 2.2/2.5 torque plate fits the 2.0/2.4's. So yes it works on the newer motors as the bore spacing and bolts locations are the same. This is the reason that the Hybrid/neon head conversion is possible.

I used the 2.2/2.5 torque plate from FWDperformance when I had machine work done on my 2.4

Im lucky, hes the only one close to me and he did all of the stuff for my engine. Hes cool, you should definitely give him a shout, he has a Turbo van which looks cool i've seen it in person and he just bought a Spirit R/T for his wife which is also cool and i also saw that in person. Conclusion hes good with TDs.
