Now:

87 Charger Shelby.
non OEM 2.5 T2 setup, motor from a 89 Spirit ES (2.5 )

part in my posession:

oil pan from,89 2.2 T2 Shelby Daytona

------------------

Swap matchup, any problems with matching up bolting?,oil pickup deficits and what type of changeovers?

Again this is a 2.2 T2 pan REPLACING a 2.5 T2 setup on a 87 Charger Shelby.

Dont want to swap and find out in the process, that something wont fly or something needs mod's to work.

(cant have downtime need to go to work)

danke,Curtis

I thought that the CB Turbo engines all had balance shafts, so the oil pans were the same, but I may be wrong.

There are two type of common block oil pan. One with balance shaft, the other without balance shaft.

There are also two type of oil pickup for common block, you have to use the matching oil pickup with either pan. Buy a new oil pickup from TU or Autozone. 89 Daytona auto 2.5L would have the oil pick up with balance shaft. 89 Daytona Shelby manual 2.2L would have the oil pickup without the balance shaft.

Bolt pattern are the same for the either pan, to use the pan without the balance shaft on a common block with balance shaft, you have to remove the balance shaft, plug the oil feed hole in that common block, and use the matching oil pickup.

From factory,
89 and newer 2.5L turbo or n/a all comes balance shaft, except the 2.5L used in Dakota.
89 2.2L turbo did not come with balance shaft.
89 and newer 2.2L n/a did not come with balance shaft.
90 TIV comes with balance shaft.
91 and newer TIII comes with balance shaft.

There are two type of oil pan gasket for common block. Four piece (Fel Pro OS30612R) design and one piece design (Fel Pro OS30612T). One piece design is more expensive but it makes installation a LOT easier, especially if you're under the car.

Thanks for the correction, I was personally uncertain on the balance shaft aspects.

Isn't the 2.5L dipstick different, too?
