Looking for a parts list to do a decent HG swap on the 89 Daytona Shelby tomorrow. All I got is the FWDP

89-up Upper Gasket Set

Round Tooth Timing Belt (mopar)

Timing Belt Tensioner (89-94 SOHC)

What bolts/studs do I need? Im still used to my Neons...

oh, you made it sound like you were gonna do a lift and slide.
the feeler gauges are for checking the head for warpage.
but you're going to drop the head off at a machine shop anyway, so....

I'm just curious if it needs a tensioner or you are just being 'safe'
I would grab a belt tension gauge - they're not a bad idea - and a too-tight belt will kill a new tensioner in about two minutes.

if he dont understand what feeler gauges are for, think he'd have a precision machined straight edge. leave that stuff for a machine shop they can determine the need for shim or not.

well I know what the feeler gauges are for Ive just never seen them used on a head gasket replacement. Even my mechanic just sent my heads to a manchine shop. So do I need the 11mm studs or 10mm bolts?

pretty sure it's be 11... 10 would be 85 and earlier.
and yeah, studs would be better than bolts... for all kinds of reasons.
if nothing else, head bolt holes in the block can and will get filled with crud and bottom out the bolts.... making for nice HG leaks

That's why proper mechanical practice is to run a chase tap thru all the head bolt holes, clean out the holes and put a light coat of oil on the bolts on assembly. I watched the dip$hit in the stall next to me crank down on head bolts with the holes full of oil and coolant.. well the moron broke the block.
