Its kinda hard to tell but on the 3rd rod journal of the crank there is some where and on the other ones there is not, also there is pretty significant wear in the number 3 rod and this is the one that did not have the bearing in it. Also things to note in the picture of the cylinder there is a gouge out of the wall and yes this is the #3 cylinder as well!

The pictures that would put this to rest would be the ones of the inside of the oil filter and the cutout of the oil strainer. If you don't want to cut the oil strainer (I would just to get all the cr@p out), then just blow air through it backwards and catch the residue on a paper towel.

You can't possibly be that dense? ever heard of a hacksaw? Oh, wait a minute, your the guy that can't find a rod bearing and doesn't understand WTF happened to it.

You spun a bearing!!! you probably didn't hear the knock because of the Wu-Tang yo-diggity c-rap cranked up thru the 12's.

So, take your engine to a more competent person like an engine machine shop and have them tell you that's what happened!!! Gee wiz it isn't flipping rocket science.

I was gonna suggest a water jet or a a plasma cutter, but hacksaw works.
Bsbllfit- don't sweat the the ribbing too much.

lol ok this one is for the hot headed 22dodge, of course I knew I could cut it open with a hack saw but I was wondering if it would be the best, and also once again there was no loud knocking sound and the bearing was not found when the engine was dismantled

The BEST method for cutting open an oil filter is an oil filter cutter. They are available from Snap-On. So there's the BEST method. But you probably wouldn't be able to figure out what you see once you have the filter opened.

wow, if some of these posts weren't so funny, they'd be mean-spirited...don't let the cranky old men who are (still) trying to quit smoking or detox get to you, they were/are 'morons' sometimes too, that's just the way they are-

their wives and children know to ignore them too

Lol...

You sure the bottom bearing isn't connected to the top bearing?

It could just be in pieces scattered throughout the engine.

I think you should get a new engine, this one seems to be paranormal.
