What all is forged in 2.2 turbo II motor from factory?

All rods are forged difference is that the T2's are heavier duty floating pin type.
Early turbo rods are strong too ... but are pressed pin variety.

Early rods 84-85 are the same as T2 rods but are pressed pin.86 up rods are the light weight rods referred to as crap by this guy

man you guys are funny going back and forth.. haha anyways i have an 89 tII turbo short block im building any advice on were to get a cheap set of forged pistons? cheapest ive seen is $4??.

400$ is the cheapest more than less, but if you are buying pistons, i wouldnt cheap it out. the machine shop that did my motor was like 400$, they used to be cheap

$400 or $450 is worth it (FWD perf sells venolias for $450 with rings). Stock cast stuff is like $200 ($120 for pistons plus like $80 for rings). So $400 vs 200. No brainer. Forged are awesome. They take a lot of abuse that cast pistons won't take. I've had my venolias for 4+ years now and they're great. I think alot of the other brands work fine too.
