Im not sure if anyone has ever thought of or brought up the topic of slamming another engine in the back of a car to go along with the front engine. But i've been thinking it and it might work if you convert both engines to be automatic and produce around the same amount of power. Does anyone know of a rear engine conversion kit? I know this may sound crazy to some people but if you run a high amount of boost on both engines it might be good for a drag car. I've already thought of where I would put the gas tank the innercooler, the raideator, and how i would hook up the electrical. I'm sure the weight gain would be heafty but would the extra 230 hp. be benifical over the rear wheels? would the two engines drive each other or fight each other. Just something to throw out there!

It's not crazy. It's been done actually. There was a twin engine Shadow and a twin engine Rampage. I read up on the Shadow and basically they cut the front clip out of another car and welded it into the rear (took the engine, trans, framing, and wiring and welded it all into the hatch area). They used 2 stock 2.5 T1/auto drivetrains and the car ran a 13 second quarter mile with minimal mods to the engines themselves. Maybe they were even stock, I don't recall. It's also been done in a VW Scirocco which is smaller than the Charger so you should be able to do it. Just a matter of being able to do the welding and custom work required.

Here's a few pics of the shadow we did. 13.50 on two bone stock 180,000+mile TI log motors. There was someone on here that was putting together a really nice looking charger or rampage a while back but I haven't seen any recent picks of the progress.

^ I guess you could say that you have junk in your trunk, and it helps you go faster, LOL. Nice build though. Think it would be cool to see in person.

But I know that I had a link to the 2 engine Rampage, but can not for the life of me find it anymore. But go for it, if you have the time, money, and determination, anything is possible. I have a V10 Dodge engine I have been kicking around the idea of dropping into a Rampage, but that will need ALOT of modification, and even MORE modification on top of that.

Nice build on the shadow. There was a guy in the Detroit area several years ago who stuffed a second 3.5 H.O. V6 into the back of a first gen LHS (the one with the monster trunk) It was supposedly a V12 ass kickin' monster!

I wanted to stuff a mid mount V8 (northstar?) into the back of my 90 Civic HB before i got rid of it. Tow it around with the four then fire up the northstar, kill the 1.5 - and rip someone a new one!

On that 2 engine Shadow, the very least they could have done would have been to fully clean the engine and transmission first instead of putting that greasy filthy mess into their car!
