Is anyone here running with a milled block? If so, does your head gasket go out more often? Thanks for any information you could give me.

I milled my block to have zero deck height. I did many this way. Never had a problem.
When I worked at the machine shop....head gaskets only blew from over heating or improper head bolt installation. I wouldn't reuse head bolts and make sure that you torque them properly.

could you explain what zero deck height means? My block is being milled because it had a slight warp. Would that be the same effect of zero deck height? thanks for the info

ive milled before to get rid of possible gasket probs and zero deck height. Zero deck means top of piston when at TDC is flush w/block surface. They start out slightly lower(or sunk) in the block. When your block is milled, it will be closer to zero deck height. You wont know til pistons are installed, unless they measured first before cutting.

Exactly! You must install your pistons first. I installed 1 and 4.
This told me whether or not the block surface was parallel to the crank. My pistons were .013 down. So that much came off to get ZERO deck hieght.
