While pulling the head off of my Lebaron this last weekend I came apon a few questions:

1) Is it or would it be detrimental to open up or match the "Fluid Passages" on the head gasket to the top/bottom of the block? (Big water jacket that goes around the cylinder has only a hole in the head gasket between the head and block)

See the attached pic. (I know, its the wrong head gasket).

that gasket is fine if your head is crossdrilled as well (the little holes between the cylinders) if the head is not crossdrilled use the earlier style gasket.

This would change the flow rates to the areas of the head. I wouldn't do it.

I think it would be detrimental to the cooling. The coolant would rush right past the cylinders too fast to absorb any heat.

I've built a ton of these motors, the gasket in the picture is FINE as long as the head is crossdrilled, if it's not, use the earlier style gasket!!! and as stated, the gasket is designed that way so the water has time to absorb the heat.

I am confused on the subject. I recently put a new motor in my car. I used a non-crossdrilled 2.2 block. and a crossdrilled head. Is the cross-drilled head gasket ok to use in this application??

You'll be ok, but next time use the non cross drilled gasket.

*next time* well, next time is going to be in a day or so, seen as how I have to pull the head off to turn the compressor housing about 10 degrees . Is it worth the extra 20$ or so to buy another head gasket? The car has not been started yet.
