moly rings

i just got some rings for my mini.i forgot to tell them moly is there a big diffrence in them..did moly rings come in turbo cars stock.is it ok to use them i dont think there moly there dark black color dont look like any ring i have pulled out before

I have found that almost all auto parts stores sell the moly rings and the cast rings are special order only and even then most cannot get them. Probably not the answer you're looking for though, huh?

The cast rings are dark grey in colour. They do work fine initially but there life expectancy is shorter than moly and they tend not to take the heat as well.
