Just found a worn thrust bearing on my 2.2 non-common block(Crank is ruined also). I've read that a super heavy pressure plate puts a big load on the thrust bearing surfaces, But mine is an auto. So the question is: Does power braking under boost (15-20 psi) put a forward thrust on the crank that could cause this kind of wear? BTW, the wear is only on the side towards the converter, and all other bearing/crank surfaces look great. Anyone seen this kind of wear?

Your flexplate might be backwords casing it to be pulled to the conveter. It is the only thing that it can think of. Or just bearing failure
